Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everybody..

I'm starting this discussion only to ask about how to use a stream component.. The issue is that I don't understand exactly what's a gate and how it may help to manipulate data...And i0ve been surfing the discussions but I still don't get it..

I'm attaching an image.. It's very simple. I would like to have in each list at the end only one value (coresponding to it.. 0 in list 0, 1 in list 1, etc).. .. and the only thing that I've been able to do is refer trhough the integer all the the data into one of outputs.. (this is an example becasue I'm trying to do something a little more complex)...

Thanks a lot..

(probably I should refer to any text.. any ideas?)).

I think what you're looking for is the Explode Tree component.

Is this the appropriate and most efficient way to use stream gate to switch between geometry?

You would be better using a stream filter, also no need for the Expression component you can plug the Boolean toggle in directly.

Much tidier - thanks. I had a feeling i was missing something cleaner.

2 years later, thanks for this. Very clear and works with geometry not just numbers, exceptionally important, all other logical gates are trash in grasshopper.

I largely think that grasshopper needs a good rewriting and trashing of crap terminology and confusing, repeating nodes (cull, dispatch, sift, gates, etc), which, combined with the awful descriptions in help files, destroy the experience.

good that people like you take the time to answer properly. pitty this forum is closed now, greetings.
