algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi,
Not sure if anyone can help with this problem. I'm using the import shp component and i keep producing an error saying "error while parsing file_name: Shapetype PolyLineZ is not implemented" (shown in file 1).
I am looking into using Meerkat as a work around at the moment but Grasshopper keeps crashing once I re-introduce the Z dimension data.
If there are any other work arounds i would be very appreciative for some suggestions.
Kind regards,
Will

I´m in the same point. Have you solved it?
Fernando, Will,
You should inspect your shapefile in ArcMap or similar program and examine the properties tab to see if it has Z values--shape files do not necessarily have them. If it does, it may be an export issue in ArcMap or whatever GIS system you are using--there are settings for how to handle the Z values when you export from ArcMap under the "environments" tab in the "data export" dialog. You can find both properties and data export by right clicking on the shapefile in the table of contents in ArcMap if you have access to it. There is a way to add Z values to a shapefile-several articles on ESRI help--if all you do is add a zero value you can then elevate them in GH.
Also note, use of the boundary component may not be appropriate for lines that are not polygons.
Hard to say more without seeing files.
Peter
