algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi eugen,
It's verry intersting subject. But it's so complicated.
I works to integrated algorithme for primitive shape into mesh.
Reconstruction 3D is so complicated in GH but with compoment in C it's possible.
Regards
Reconstruction is possible with accute 3D solution but it's not présent in rhino and gh.
The sementisation is possible with code C:

I belive Hannes means point cloud triangulation, the paper you linked to tells how to process further already triangulated point cloud.
There are many methods to achieve this (converting point cloud into mesh), I personally find most helpful these sites :
http://www.cgal.org/Manual/latest/doc_html/cgal_manual/Surface_reco...
+ of course you can use marchingcubes in rhino (meshfrompoints command) or one provided with millipede (check millipede group for more info)
Detailed what I know about it.
In rhino meshfrompoints /
And milipede/
Thanks for all
no, implementing CGAL would require quite a lot of work.. I just read on their site how to make some things - there are often good explanations in manuals etc.
yes. CGAL is to complex for easy processing. it is rather for scientific processing. already the installation (under windows 64bit) is pain in the ass...
plus integration in grasshopper.....
I will probably implement some 3d reconstruction algo in future... Iam really interested in it, but as for now other stuff has higher priority...
OK, thank you!
Maybe we have to wait some time until this gets more relyable.
