Hi. My name is George. I heard and saw some of Grasshopper examples on web, and I am interested in doing a Phd thesis on my faculty, regarding using a Grasshopper in generating new shapes and systems of space frames.
As I do not know anything about Grasshopper, I am wondering if this can be done? I am using Rhino for several years, so it will not be a problem, but still I do know anything about Grasshopper.
Just to clear this up. The space frame is the same as space truss. The only difference is in nodes - frame has a rigid nodes, while truss has a hinged nodes. But forget about it, this is not important for Grasshopper.
So my upper topic title could also be "Using Grasshopper as tool for generating new space trusses structures and shapes" or simply "Using Grasshopper as tool for generating new trusses structures and shapes".
Grasshopper is very powerful way of generating structure models, and I've been working on tools to enhance and make this process easier. Below are two sample images, you can download the files from my blog. Instructions for getting started are here: Geometry Gym Group
Hi there Jon, I am sorry for the late reply.
Hm, splendid work.
I tried to find this files, for the images you posted, but I can not. Can you give the links, where I can download it.
