Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone will be able to give me a few pointers about the set up of my script. I am designing a wall where both sides have modules that open and close depending on how close they are to a number of attractor curves. The issue is, with my current script, even if I set multiple attractor curves, the wall reacts to only one. Is there any way of adjusting so that modules react to whichever attractor curve is closest?

I'm in a bit of a pickle because I need the whole building design finished for laser cutting and model making in 2 days. So any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I have attached my rhino and grasshopper files. If the two base surfaces are not visible in Rhino, just hit show.

Hope to hear from someone soon!!

Thanks!!
Rachel

Hi Rachel,

I think you need to use the closest point component before you put the attractor points into your script.

Ahhhh!
Thank you so much!
I'm so glad it was something simple!
Hi Danny,

I'm sorry, but would it be possible for you to upload your file of my script for me?
I've attached the closest points like you suggested, and as far as I can tell it's hooked up in the same way as your image. However, it's still only recognizing the closest points from one attractor curve, plus a couple of random points at the bottom of the other curves.

I've got no clue as to why!

Thanks,

Rachel

It will do you no good as you look to be using v0.6.0059. I have Flattened the List going into the S Input. When you are using v0.8 it shows the symbol of the Down arrow as it goes in if the list has been flattened. You can Flatten the list either by right click on the input and choose Flatten from the Context list or you can use a Flatten component in the normal way.

Edit: don't forget to this to your other side attractor points.
That's done it. Thanks Danny!

End of a semester is always a stressful time! Even without a new program to wrap your head around.

I really appreciate the help.

Rachel
