algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hey guys, I have this Brep which I need to unroll/unfold. I tried with all the plugins and solutions I could find on the forum but I'm not getting what I'm searching for, which is the same result I would obtain unrolling the brep directly on Rhino with the possibility to associate points and curves to be unrolled with the brep.
I also tried to turn the brep in a surface but the result is not even close.
I'm searching for a solution on grasshopper cause this is a part of a way larger file I use to many similar breps.

how did you create your polysurface?
I think it has a bit of an issue on one of the fillets.
When using the unroll command in Rhino, it does work, however with the simple python script in Grasshopper the original polysurface falls apart.
I took the cross section of your polysurface and made it planar, which it wasn't on your polysurface. With the extrusion tool, I got the green polysurface, which unrolls nicely.
Hi Martin, thank you for your help.
The polysurface is a result of an inside offset of another polysurface, since I needed the offset to be filleted I had to build it on my own with pipes etc.
I knew the problem was with one edge of one of the fillets, I was wondering why the rhino command worked while the grasshopper couldn't, that's why I posted this discussion.
I don't know if your solution is doable in my very case (I will use this solution in 50+ cases), but I ask you if you can be so kind to add function about points and curveto the python script, I don't have a clue how to do it :( Thanks again
check below, the FabTools component
Here I tried with the Fabtools unroll command. It works for your original polysurface, however your curves and points seem to be slightly off. I moved two points onto an edge of the polysurface and then it unrolled the additional geometry. Same with the curve.
Your original polysurface exploded and control points switched on:
Also after a ShrinkTrimmedSrf and combining the geometry into a polysurface, that fillet is still an issue....
I know the surface is not properly drawn but it comes from the work of other studies, so to me it's better to find a way to deal with it rather than rebuild each surface.
I tried installing the new version of Fabtools, the latest couldn't install so I had to install previous version and using this version' unroll the surface splits again... no solutions so far
