algorithmic modeling for Rhino

unroll question

Hey guys, I've seen a lot of geople playing around with unroll surface.. I wanted to know if there is a way to define where the seam line will be on the 3d poly surface. So if you have a box you could define where it will be cut..hope my question is clear.. Thanks.
