Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys

For some reason I don't seem to be able to unify the mesh normals of my mesh. There are one or two problem areas as highlighted in the below image.

I've tried almost every combination of components to try and unify them. Uto's mesh unify, along with mesh flip, I tried re-welding the vertices with uto, and welding the mesh with weaverbird. I tried using unifyMeshNormals from the rhinoscript libary for python. I couldn't even get the normals to unify properly when I took into rhino, OR 3ds max for that matter.

Anyone know a solution?

If you have the BBox you can filter the inner faces and just flip them.
Could you tell me how you did that mesh? Thank You.

voxel perlin noise mate!

I look at your model, the problems disappears when the mesh is explodedI searched for same quadrangle but without  results. I think the main problem is where 2 edges are coincident like that. So a edge if for 4 faces and a point for 6 faces. Normally a edge is just for 2 faces.

To cure that I think it is needed to separate that type of points so to generate 2 points (coincident !).
