algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello

I am trying to unevenly divide a surface, and then box morph a component on to it.

I followed the primer's (2nd ed.) instruction on p95.

This works for an uneven surface where the U and V divisions are the same.

However, my U = 1, and V = 40, and this does not work for me.

Also, the morphed component is morphed incorrectly?

I do not understand why this has happened?

any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi George,

The problem is that you are using a "geometry" component as opposed to a "surface" one when you select the rhino cylinder. The "geometry" component does not let you re-parametrize your initial surface therefore its UV domain is not from 0 to 1. Have a look at the files attached and image below. Hope this helps?

only the UV direction is different...or the rotation is off?

strips ends start and end on same edge, rather than top-to-bottom.

think i can fix it....cant remember if that was a problem also. wil hav a look.
