algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi,
I am trying to make a surface from set of points - which are live coordinates of about 15-30 vessels that change every two minutes -. So that the surface changes shape every two minutes since these points are supposed to be the control points of the surface. I attached that live data to P, and have been trying to find the right value for U and I on the SRFGRID. Yet it still says UCount Value is not valid for this amount of points.
I have attached the file, would really appreciate if someone could assist.
Thank you,
Levent

Ok, this is what I came up with:
It sets the Z value of each point based on its current acceleration.
You will need to keep an eye on the panels inside the definition because connection with the site often has problems (or maybe its just my internet connection...) and nulls are inserted and they mess up the definition....
Also (and this was my concern about) you will notice that you can't have horizontal slices with the location of the vessels in a specific point in time anymore, since each one will have a different Z value on the same time stamp.....
Hope this is clear...
Good luck with the project,
Nikos
Nikos,
This one is great. Thanks a lot for that.
Lastly, on the topology side, I tried to simplify and exclude kangaroo stuff.
Two short questions on this one;
1) The heights of the peaks (of the mountains or whatever one calls them) are at the same height as the z value is the same for each point, only differing for other points in the grid - based on the behaviour of the graph -. How do I connect that to the acceleration values - included in the document I attached -, so that each have different height but also some having the opposite direction as well?
2) As you will notice on the some parts of the edges of the grid boundary it goes up instead of having a 0 Z value. How do I anchor the whole surface from the naked edge points - the grid points that are at the very outer side
Thank you,
Best,
L
