algorithmic modeling for Rhino
i have this bars initially and i am trying to randomize their positions (still retain the spacing ratios within the area) but i couldnt figure out the way to do it.
i started with getting the widths/lengths for every bars (white and black) and i tried to jitter them and subsequently put them as a series of points for planes afterwards. but it doesnt seem to be working. i am thinking arithmetic progression might work in terms of creating the spacing in between points but i have no idea how to set the variables and the spacings are not uniform. does anyone have any idea whether this is possible at all in grasshopper?
can anyone kindly enlighten me?

Maybe something like this
even though that is not quite the thing that i want but really .. thanks danny
i havent finished looking at the script yet at the moment but i just wonder if i could have more control on the ratio? i was thinking something like having a pre-determined ratio 1:1.25:1.5:1.75 and shuffle them to 1:1.75:1.5:1.25 instead of applying a universal ratio
sorry if it sounds too demanding >/p>
The Ratio in the slider is Black bars to White Bars in terms of how much space overall is occupied. The actual size of bars is handled by the powers of 2 bit. As I was trying to keep it all contained within the given area the sizes needed to be multiples of that area.
It was really just an exercise in giving you a few ideas :)
alright. thanks a lot anyway. studying your script at the moment .. still a noob =D
