algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hey guys, I am wondering if anyone has any insight on how I could go about recreating and interesting facade I saw para metrically using grass hopper.

The link above shows the facade.
The parametric idea would be for these shading bands to shrink in the more public areas allowing for more views in and out. I think these areas could be based off an attractor point. But I'm not entirely sure how to go about shrinking portions of the geometry. Anyone have any ideas on starting this definition?

modeling twisted surfaces could be a first approach...now you have to get a system for selecting the planes(see the script from the other post) to rotate.
You can do it with attractor points or by picking frames and if the center of the plane is within this frame the planes rotate ... the ones on the outside not...so you might get the same result like in the picture.

Thanks a lot! I think this will help a lot. Now question. What If I want to keep them planar, instead twisting just pinch the thickness? Any Idea on that?
If you want to work with image "attractor" instead of points, this could be a beginning:

quick and dirty: if you don´t rotate the planes more than 90 degrees in the example above you can just scale the z direction to 0 ;-)...you'll still get the nice transitions of the twisted surface...but its a flat surface
