algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I am a beginner and am trying to orient multiple surfaces (see lamp png) onto a surface with a grid (see lamp2 png). when I try to orient it , it breaks it apart rather than keeps it as a single "object" (even though it has multiple surfaces) How do I group the surfaces together in a way that they will orient as a whole?

just flatten the group
oh so simple. now for a not so simple question: i am trying collapse each of those individual layers within itself (like a telescope before it is retracted) based on the location of an attractor point. so based on that point, each group will be either fully collapsed or fully expanded or somewhere in between.
this is posted on the general discussion, but figured I'd ask you since you've been so helpful.
I am having trouble with surface split. I have a field of breps, and a dividing brep (a series of lofted curves). I want everything inside of the dividing brep to be eliminated or hidden, but everything outside remain. I think there might be a place where I am not flattening two breps, I'm not sure!
