Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi, I'm currently building a geometrical form for an architecture project and I can't seem to be able to trim the scaled down surface from the original surface (the bigger one). Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks

Hi Matt,
I figured out the way to do it the old way and have the same effect. But its pretty dumb cuz it has too many wires.
Any Idea how to simplify it?

would not let me reply to your latest question on simplying it. do you not like my code :(

Also Saw you ask last night about putting micro verion of the module onto the surface of the lastest module but the reply seems to have gone today. I may be easy to do it on the surfaces, but at the junctions Hum??? now thats a whole new problem that i don't have any answer for.

Been a slow week in the office and as i was so close to creating a shelled module yesterday i though i would have a go.

Pleased find attached new shell version including moveable scale centre if you want to use it. That on its own,well with a bit of V-Ray magic creates modules like this.

You got me wrong, I meant its that your way of building is much better than mine cuz mine looks too repetitive. I love your code.
The shell one is very impressive. I meant, yeah, Im impressed.

I think if it can be put on a surface, (a triangle surface) it will be fine cuz the junctions(the edges where they meet) will be introduced to a secondary material. The problem is, (i was using box Morph) i would like to be able to vary the scale of the opening for each individual one in relation to its position to the exterior forces (which i think i will use distance, evaluate, blah....)

God, school is slow too. Too many courses...

Hi Michelle

Do you still me to try and simplfy the code you posted today as it seems you have move vectors/points than you use or even need which is making simplfying it interesting to say the least. With time your codes will become more simple for what used to take loads of components, one thing us to try and use trees as much as possible.

Is this trianglated surface going to be an organic shape or flat? I will not be able to look at it till the weekend mind.

I think it will be applied to flat but triangular shaped surfaces. like the break down components of the octahedron.

I will keep working on it and i will be very happy if you can help me during the weekend :)
