Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Dear All,

I am attempting to cut one surface from another, so I am left with a half sphere of geometry. I thought I was going down the right route with the below code, but I am now stuck. Any pointers gratefully received!

Many thanks

Try using the "Solid difference" instead of "BBX" component.
Also be sure that the extruded volume of trimming surface includes all volume of the part of first object you want to be cut.

Djordje,

Many thanks for your help with this! What you wrote certainly makes a lot of sense, only I'm getting the warning message 'Boolean Difference set is empty' on the Solid Difference, and it isn't behaving in the way I would like - presumably because my geometry isn't solid perhaps? I've attached the files if you would like to see.
