algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Anyone knows how I can trim off curves from the edge of a surface. these curves are lines joining points after subdividing the surface. Can i extrude the edge curve and make a surface on d edge to be trimmed off? If you have a better way, please let me know. Thanks

if i understand the image correctly, you're trying to trim the diamond shapes that don't lie on the surface? the first thing you could do is intersect the lines that lie part and part off the the surface with a curve/curve (one curve being the edge of the surface) intersection. and then test to see what geometry is on the surface and cull everything that isn't.
