algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hey everyone!
I want to make round cutouts on a brep. So Ive tried populating it with spheres and then trim but some of the spheres dont cut through the whole body. I could make the radius bigger but thats not desirable. Any of you got an idea how to go about this problem? Did I do it the right way?
After baking ive noticed that the mesh is hollow. Is there a way to fill it up? or fill the cutouts?

That looks way better. Thanks! What would I have to do to change the wave pattern? I lofted 2 curves in Rhino to get this form but I want to see how it looks with waves going Left to Right and Top to Bottom.
Your brep container is empty, but what I did was make a surface parallel/offset from the outside of my real surface and randomly populate this with spheres. Then use the offset and sphere radius parameters to control how much the spheres overlap/intersect the real surface. As long as the real surface is the outside surface of a closed brep the Solid Difference function should work OK.

oh wow! thanks! Can I exclude an area where I don't want the solid difference to be applied? I mean specifically at the top as you can see there are the spheres cut off. Or should I just use the Seed slider to find the right positions?
