trim surfaces with brep ?

hi !

i have a bunch of surfaces and i want to keep only the parts of the surfaces that are included in a closed brep.

any idea how i could do this? (the only thing that came to mind was giving a thickness to the surface, using the brep union component, and picking afterwards the surface that i need from the resulting breps... not exactly economical or elegant..)

There are obviously ways of combining components to create this functionality, but i'm having trouble making it bomb proof. I'm still novice at understanding why things work in one instance and not others. If people are interested i'll post my particular situation that I'm encountering an error.

Would it be possible to have an intersect/trim surface + brep component?
