Trim Inclusion component

Basic question:

Can someone by giving a link, an example or simple explanation describe what TRIM INCLUSION component is for?

I have tried to understand it by doing some tests but I didn't succeed.

As per file attached: various surfaces gives various results but there is always one figure for the same surface no matter the scale or it's position.
