algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello everyone!
I'm kind of inexperienced with grasshopper and I need help with something that I can't find a solution to, but I guess its really easy to do. I want to triangulate a surface that is an irregular polygon. So far, I've done it with delaunay triangles, but only works if the surface has no interior angles or holes.
The thing is, I want to do this for a project, where I can create different surfaces by modular triangles that I can transport to the site in trucks. The surface is supossed to have patios, so I need it to have holes inside, and that's where I'm stuck right now, since I don't want triangulation to happen in these holes. In the image, you will understand what I'm having difficulties with.
Furthermore, since I have to transport these triangular surfaces in trucks, is there a way to limit the length of the triangles' sides? I was thinking to limit it to 10x4x3 meters, which would be the maximum size a truck could transport. The only way I thought this could be done is to obviously limit the distance each point is placed on the surface, but I cant come up with a way to do that. Maybe using circles and their radii could work, but I don't really know how to connect everything together.

Sounds like you are looking for a well-ordered FEA type output mesh.
Kangaroo might be the best way to control your mesh parameters. A recent example:
