algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi all,
I've been wandering around the discussion forum and some other places but can't seem to find a good place to start regarding the problem of remeshing a triangular mesh to a quadrilateral one. (it seems like something Daniel would have some idea of..)
Any pointer or advice would be much appreciated!
Attaching two mesh samples (generated from Delaunay Mesh and MeshMachine)..
Thanks a lot and best,
Tim

Hi Hyungsoo,
Thanks a lot for your response.
This is helpful and actually what I was looking for earlier on in the process; however, what I'm after here is actually not a uniform remeshing, or redistribution of density, but the opposite - a quad remeshing that maintains or at least corresponds to the density distribution of the original triangular mesh.
Would you have any idea of that?
Thanks again!
Hi all,
Just pushing this back up, hoping for some advice!
Thanks a lot!
Hi Michael,
Thank you for your response.
Like you said, I've tried the tri to quad component in GH which didn't work very well,
and then exported into MeshLab and tried the Quad Dominant filter which worked nicely.
I was just hoping for a workflow that could stay in GH and not having to export and import between platforms.
Would porting the codes of MeshLab into a script component in GH be an option?
Best,
Tim
