Tom Wiscombe and the Batwing. The new Batman?

The Batwing of Tom Wiscombe. This is an surface with relief that can act as wind direction regulator. The surface also has ventilation ducts in it. Total ideal. Do you know if there is an example of how to start such a script for such a model?

Here and here.. also, as far as I recall, Wiscombe primarily uses Maya for this kind of mesh/subd modelling stuff.
