algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello!
Ive been only to make tiles from square or hexagonals.
Is it possible to build a tile systeme using an random geometry?
Thank you for your help!
(the image is just an example for the process)

Those are just squares/rectangles with different edges. As long as you have edges that fit together, you can tile any shape you want.
yes, what would u use to mutiply in x and y a random shape?
ok now i got it, using erik's technique!
thx
Here is an approach (although I didn't organize that exact geometry because I am short on time); however, the logic is the same. Simply divide the surface, extract the edges, find and move whatever points are necessary then draw lines, arcs, nurbs etc... Use vectors to move the points when necessary. You get the idea?
Cheers,
Hi Erik,
Thank you for your help. But im still a beginner in grasshopper. I didnt want to make that exact pattern, but more to understand the logical behind patterning a surface. I will study what you sent me.
thanks
No problem Dan,
Glad to help. Good luck with your studies.

Hello!
I would like to create a pattern inside a surface that is not squarish.
should i just split the created lines with with my curves or is it possible to use the surface as when populating points in a surface?
Thanks!
