algorithmic modeling for Rhino

This is driving me bonkers, but as of the last two weeks this site has been loading in pseudo-text based mode with most of the graphics and images not loading.

It's the same problem for IE or Chrome.

Is this just my office network connection speed? (In otherwords, my problem?)

I SWEAR I didn't change nothin... argh.

Hey Taz,

I had the same problem and found out it was related to my office's firewall.

We got rid of any ban related to social websites and it worked again...

I can even use facebook now, got them !!! :)

What's odd is I use Chrome both at home and work. Work has been fine but home has been screwed up as in Taz's screen shot. I haven't changed anything at home and I'm the network administrator. :)
Hi Taz, i guess you have disabled the stylesheet (css) somehow. With Firefox with webdeveloper add-on I disable styles by hitting Ctrl+Shift+S...

Since you're using Chrome, goto Options, Under the Bonnet, Clear Browsing Data. That has helped me in the past when certain sites would no longer load or load weirdly.

I can't even see who I'm directly replying to, but thanks all for the suggestions!

The Chrome option to "obliterate the following items from the beginning of time" hasn't work.

Social network sites (like Facebook) have always been banned, but Ning sites haven't (yet) been flagged so I don't think it's a permission issue.

I can't disable the firewall or tweak the setting to see if that's the problem (unless I get IT to do the testing).

I think there was a recent switch from Norton to Symantec virus protection so that could be it, but (again) I can't tweak the settings.

I'll send out an internal company message and see if anyone has ideas.

Thanks again.
It's a firewall issue (probably) since our firewall was apparently "updated" recently.

See ya'll after I can get somebody to fix this for me, which may not be anytime soon...

Taz -

It sounds like the firewall is blocking these addresses:

"api.ning.com"  and/or  "static.ning.com"

Is there a way they can allow those?

Hi Scott,

I'm going through the appropriate channels so someone in the UK can (hopefully) flip a switch and allow the Ning to flow again.

I shall return!

...and we're back!

Did I miss anything?

Oh wait, I'm 2 releases behind already...

By my reckoning you've missed about 300 posting opportunities ;)

Thanks Danny, I'm sure you picked up the slack while I was away on my forced hiatus...

:)

Did you get a chance to look into the PM I sent you about fancywires.com?
