algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi

I think it would be a good idea to open a discussion of this new forum and how we use it. And this is hereby done :)

My first comment is related to the way post are shown. The open reply window is somewhat annoying. Is it possible to have it closed as standard, and then you open it when needed.

And i think the forum should show more than 10 discussion per page. And perhaps be smaller. You have to scroll through a lot just to see the first 10 discussions.

Hi there. A way to deal with that and at the same time to be able to see only the new messages is to use the RSS feed ability... I personally use the RSS reader of Internet Explorer

thanks
Thanks Dimosthenis, but i was kind of hoping for a method not requiring a rss-reader :) - but perhaps i should quit being stubborn and start using one :)
You're welcome :D Still, it seems that even the RSS feed is quite simple in this site; I am trying to manually refresh in IE but nothing happens, as opposite to another one... scheduled should work for both though
Hi Thomas,

I agree, it bothers me too. I haven't been able to find a setting anywhere though that would allow me to change this. But then, I have next to no experience with setting up community sites like this so I may be overlooking it.
I too have no experience in setting up communities, so i won't be much help, but i've posted it under on the Ning forum, perhaps someone there has an answer.

more suggestions>is it possible to have a new category just for VB nodes?
If I am not mistaken, all it takes to start a new category is to do it via the main discussions index.... ok, I think I am mistaken, I just tried and it seems it just adds a post...how to make a new category?
Added.

I try to follow the discussions in Thunderbird (through RSS), but the posts aren't showing up in chronological order within the thread. (Look at the image) For example, why is the 18:11 post not above 18:40? Perhaps this is a Thunderbird issue? Either way, it's no big deal for me, just a bit confusing...

Apart from this detail I really like the new (web) forum, it really encourages you to interact with other users, rather than just posting occationally, which is a good thing!
This is why I gave up with Thunderbird...
