A is text. trees normally have numbers describing their paths, like 0;0;1, 0;0;2 etc
you can connect a panel to the output going into the t input and see the paths there.

Yup, paths always use integers (non negative integers at that). Splitting masks and path mappings can use notation other than integers, but paths themselves do not support this.
