Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi!

Would it be possible to relate the fading of the text panel to the font size?

I use it with big font size to label parts of my definitions and it´s a real pain that it fades away just when I need it.

Scribble works fine, but I want inputs and outputs.

Hope to wake up this question again, it would really make an impact on the workflow of my office.

Also, when copying panels with customized font, it resets the font - a real pain if you whant to have a consistent look to your definitions.

I would like to know if there has been a solution to this? Or are there other ways to change at what "zoom level" the text in text panels fade? It would be very helpful!

Refreshing this complaint :)

Any way around this with SDK ? like write new panel like componet thats never fade?

It's not exactly what you're asking for, but MetaHopper lets you control the size and text of a Scribble - so you have "inputs" on it and update it dynamically. It also lets you bypass the 100pt font size limit so you can make large, legible labels for your definition.

Hi Andrew, I am familiar with Metahopper. Awesome tool, we use it daily in the office. The thing is i do not like scribbles in their substance. They are different from ordinary grasshopper components, so they sabotage standard grasshopper workflow. For example if you make selection and want to move it, but click on scribble, it will get unselected and select scribble instead, or even worse, if you zoom out enough, marquee selection, does select everything but scribbles, sabotaging all formatting, ... So i am looking for a way to get rid of scribbles, for once and for all. J Of course it is not huge bug, but I am sure it would make many daily GH users happier. Anything that metahopper could help with in the future?
