Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Is this true, that with rhinoceros AND grasshopper together the line thickness, the line colour and "an O-Shape of a point" can't be done?!!!

For these three things I need another plugin for rhinoceros?!!!

Thanks for the answer in advance.

My biggest question is:

Can I find out there in this cruel world only ONE add-on for grasshopper, that enables me to change the point symbol to an "O Symbol" AND to change the line thickness so, that I won't need ("Human" AND "VB")? There are too many GH Add-Ons out there http://www.food4rhino.com/ ... Non of these can get this job done? ... Danke Florian.

Can I do both jobs with VB "vodoo"?

Ghuser obje?

Drop the .ghuser file into the UserObjects folder of Grasshopper.

In GH pick the Menu: File - Special Folders - User Objects. Then this component will appear in the GH Toolbar under the User panel. You can save any special script as User object. If you like to use davids script more often i'd recommend this. You can do so by selecting the Script component in GH and then go to File - Save User Object.

This is very simple and fast. No need for any Plug-In and installation.

You just need the ghuser file i've posted before (in the gh you find an example how to use it) and davids script for the point display.

Cheers FF

Some stuff could be made with VB or C#. What I don't understand is why do you need so deeply to change curves and points visualization using GH. Normally I make that final step using Illustrator. It's a cosmetic step in the design process that I don't care about "until the end" (it depends in every project nature, but it's the common way to go for me).

Very nice Angel.

Hey Ángel you're using the QIE ... no fair :)

Sorry :( But It's just PS and Ai...:P

I release this small plugin today that could helps you.

Hello Florian,

i have no idea, what a .ghuser file is and I don't know where to find the UserObjects folder of GH. So ... I don't know :)

Hello Angel,

"I've just released a small plugin that could be useful for you."

I beg you to tell me, how to change the shape of a point to have an "O-Shape" and how to change the thickness of a line!!!!!!

"What I don't understand is why do you need so deeply to change curves and points visualization using GH"

Because I'm "at the end"...

I don't know where to start to get this job done! Some say get a plugin ... some say get two addons ... and others say you don't need any addons or plugins! ... So ... Is there anybody out there, who has some feeling for a beginner?! :D

With this nice plugin of yours can I change the thickness of a line? Can I give a point an O shape? ...

You write "plug-in" ... So it's something like rhino? ... Or do you mean it's an "add-on" like for gh? ... Where to start from?!!

This plugin is useful with points...you can use the picture you want to represent points. Just make a PNG image and use it ;)

And the proble is that GH is not a software for "postproduction" or representation, is just a parametric modelling tool merged inside Rhino. You are trying to use a hammer to cook an omelette...it just doesn't work in that way.

GH is not the magic tool to make everything ;) Like no other tools are.

a journey of a thousand miles starts with a step! ... How to "use it"? ...

I downloaded it ...

And I have a zip folder on my desktop ... What do I do next? @phillip: and how does it look like? ;)
