algorithmic modeling for Rhino

tapered structure extension

Dear all - 

I have surface boxed a sphere with the geometry that I want, but I would like to be able to control each tapered box individually, if possible. I came across a very good tutorial for this last night, but have since lost it in the ether! does anyone have any pointers? I would like to draw out some of the tapered boxes to give an uneven surface appearance.
