Sweep1 Behavior with closed rail curve

It looks to me like sweep1 is broken for closed curves.  I couldn't get it work no matter what I tried.  Pipe works though if that's any help.

ok thank you for looking at it - pipe always uses a circle as a section curve, right? i tried to look in there to see if you can change the section to a square or something different but it doesn't seem to be an option.

Try to find the origin of the curve. There is where you need to place your first cross section. See if it works.

Yes that worked and it seems like the profile curve has to touch the rail curve rather than be centered on it as per the original posters definition.
