Sweep Question

Alright so I've got a quick sweep question.  I've got four sweep profiles around one rail.  If the profiles cross each other I know that I can rotate the profile or flip it to fix the kink but how do you fix a flat kink.  It seems that when my definition sweeps between two curves it will flatten the profile at the merge point of the two profiles during the sweep rather than continuing the thickness from one profile to the next.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!
