Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey Everyone,

I am trying to create a color gradient on a surface that is determined by a set of points. I would like the color gradient to respond to the pts z-value relative to the surface.

Does anyone have an example of this being done?

Thanks.

Hello Michelle,

To create a color gradient on a surface you have to convert your surface into a mesh. Each vertex on the mesh can be set to a certain color and the different colors of the vertices create a gradient.

So you need to have the vertices in the right locations in order to have a z-value for each vertex of your new mesh. these vertices can be coloured by the GH component called "Mesh Colours".

I've attached a short example...it might be a little bit off from what you need but it gives you the idea.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

FF
