Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I'm wanting to put a minimal surface equation in gh and i've got my L (learner) plates on sorry.

In the function component i can input an expression;

this is the equation from http://mathworld.wolfram.com/EnnepersMinimalSurface.html

x = u-1/3u^3+uv^2
y = -v-u^2v+1/3v^3
z =

u^2-v^2

when i type the equations for z,y,z  it says a syntax error so i obviously do not understand how to construct an expression. (screen capture attached)

Any help/explanation of using this function would be greatly appreciated

thanks so much

You need to add Z input(by ZUI) and right bracket in expression. There is Enneper component in LanchBox add-on....

Thanks Igor, I find the Enneper (and all launch add ons) keep crashing grasshopper.

How to make the z appear in the variables?

cheers

Zoom the Expression component click on + and mark it Z..... LaunchBox works good for me....

Thanks Chris that helped, now I get another error. (image)

Sorry about being slow with this concept

Hello cait,

to solve this problem you need to consider the syntax of the Expression Editor.

See the following image.

Best,

Martin.

ah that makes so much sense!! thank you so much i really appreciate it

cait

amazing thank you

It would be nice to see the success after the discourse that happened here.
