Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I saw the pattern of The University of Sheffield is pretty interesting and I want to try something similar to it.

Any one knows how can i achieve that? I know some scaling techniques such as scale according to a point or a curve, but I have no idea that how can I subdivide a quad into a series of quad with particular scale.

Thanks a lot!

Regards,
Dora

I think you just subdived a surface into diamond shapes first, then select a few of the faces and subdivide them again. I think the Lunchbox extension has some useful stuff for that. I think you will find a lot of tutorials about diamond panelling and subdividing in general.
