Subdividing trimmed patch surface.

i'm trying to subdivide a trimmed patch surface to develop a compression only vault.So i designed a form using Rhinovault converted the mesh into a patch surface and then subjected it through subdivision to obtain individual cells which can finally be assembled to develop the form.the subdivision seems to still take the untrimmed patch surface. How do i get the subdivision on a trimmed patch surface?
