Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone,

first and foremost thank you (yes you!) for the information you share in this forum, it is extremely helpful!.

I'd like your help with my final project :) (interior design and built environment 4th and final year).

I have a working code in which I create extruded stripes based on a curve (see included files)

Now I want to have an attractor point (or more, but I'll start with one) that controls the height of the lines that I created from the initial points (in the z direction), but the division has to stay the same (I don't want to get "broken" stripes). and the effect needs to be smooth.

Now the code i have right now for this, works only on the original points of the base curve (see included files) and is not smooth at all. I need the attractor to effect all of the points created after the devision.so that if I move the attractor point on the "grid" of points I have ,after the devision, the lines near it will become longer, thus creating larger openings between the stripes. I tried various ways, but have failed so far.

sorry for the long description and thank you so much!

p.s. the graph mapper is not necessary if I am able to do what I want, so you can just get rid of it :)

Sorry for bugging you, but that is not exactly what I had in mind.

The problem is that the change depends on the distance of the attractor from the base curve.

What I wanted was an effect similar to the simplest attractor tutorials, i.e. all of the points that I have (those on all of the lines in the z direction) are like a grid of points, and where I move the attractor I have a certain radius of impact.

Also I want the lines that are effected by the attractor to be longer then then the other lines (basically the wall needs to be higher in that place).

really, thanks a lot for your patience....

Edit oops I've gone the other way. Sorry

I think I'm with you now. But if not you are going to have to draw me a sketch or something.

Here's the fix swap the A and B inputs on the division component and put in a Min before the weave.

In what you did, there is an L- I see it's a number component but is the value of the number? also what is the value of b?
and I'm adding a sketch of what I want the outcome to be- do you see how the gaps between the stripes increase because the vertical dimension in that area is longer?

L is the 400 that you had initially for the SDL value of L all I did was extract Parameter in order to use it later in the definition.

B is 2 I'm just halving the gap between lines.

I see now. A picture is worth a thousand words.

I have a problem with the definition. the loft doesn't work and it shows a problem with the connecting line from the first dispatch to the divide. I don't understand what the problem is....

thanks again for all your help :).
