"String" as in "text"? If you're trying to parse the underlying text of a collection of Rhino curves or surfaces then you are out of luck I think. This is essentially OCR and there are no methods in the Rhino or GH SDKs for this.

If however you have a text object in Rhino, then the string is stored somewhere in there and extracting it is not too difficult.
