strange behavior on removign duplicates - bug?

More likely user error, instead of a bug, but still. I have been trying to remove duplicates circles, using remove_dup_curves, remove_Dup_points (which gives an indexing error), so finally decided to write my own comparison, and here are the results, as you can see what should be equal (two identical x-values) is,in fact, not.

ideas anyone?
