... i may be going crazy/missing something simple, but somehow the stepper motor is not moving...

please, find the attached picture of the wiring as well; and it is hooked up to a 12V power source...

PS: the wiring set up for the motor was also red/green and blue/yellow.  I was also messing with this thinking it might be the issue but still no luck. 

the AccelStepper is also in the library... when i update the slider, the arduino board blinks so it's receiving data, it's just not feeding it into the stepper...

Hi Leif,

difficult to say what is going wrong but i can give you some hints..

You don't need a the 'write to arduino component' - the 'stepper component' is sending directly to the stepper motor firmata. (there is a special firmata for speppers - do not use the general firefly fimata)

also did you check if your stepper motor driver is properly adjusted for your motor? you need to calculate the current and adjust it on the stepper driver (usually there is a small poti somewhere)

you should find everything on the datasheets of your parts...
