algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Really simple question that I'm having a hard time answering! Here goes:

I am trying to make a staggered grid to imput into the image sampler but the only thing that seems to be working is using a square grid/rectangular/triangular grid non of which give me staggered points. Ive tried just making a grid of point myself in rhino then inputting them into the image sampler but the sample doesnt seem to work any longer. by this i mean the circles no longer change in diamiter.

heres a link to how i want the points to be like

here is how the points are now

any help with this would be amazing!

thanks

Don't know if its a tolerance thing but the Kangaroo DupPts Component isn't behaving.

And an alternative using shift and cull.

mh?

I did not check the dupPtcomponent (it worked until now). But anyway, your solutions seems to be clear and easy to understand.

Yes, it's a tolerance thing - works fine if it is set to 0.0001 instead of zero.

Those points are not exactly identical so not being detected as duplicates.

I guess I should set the default tolerance for the DuplicatePts component to some small but non-zero default value to avoid this sort of thing.

worked great thank you

Danny I was looking for a 60 degree angle staggered grid  so Dedackelzucht definition worked with Daniels fix.

Good job guys
