Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys,

I was wondering if a polysurface could be split with a curve?

I have tried the new split surface component but it doesn't seem to work with breps.

I have also tried the script available on this page but it gives me the following error message:

Hope you can help,

Many thanks,

Arthur

Can you not split before you join?  Seems to work fine with individual faces.

Thanks Taz,

You are right, splitting before joining works well but I can't manage to keep the order after doing so (image below).

If I could join the surfaces before splitting, the resulting polysurfaces could maybe split into two identifiable pieces?

Or would there be a way to get these two pieces without joining?

Cheers,

Arthur

Hi,

Another different idea/solution would be to make a surface from the 5 curves and then split it but I would not know how to create the surface on GH without using VB...any thoughts?

Cheers,

Arthur

Hi guys,

is there an actual solution to this request? I'd like to split a brep with a bunch of curves. Thank you.

Hi Arthur,

does this consider an answer?

i used subcurve to rebuild a new surface

even i am facing strange behavior on grasshopper

such like evaluate surface doesnt work on srf

and for curved surface

even it still more work, especially at loft issue
