Spiral ribbon around surface (to make windows along a surface)

Hello everyone and Happy New Year.

I am seeking for a method to create a spiralling window around a surface.

i manage to create a line spiral around a sphere but I can't find a proper way to make a parametric "spiral ribbon" around the surface.

My method was:

• create a ellipse

• revolution that ellipse

• interpolated a curve along surface

• copy and move that curve

• loft two curves

It doesn't work.

It would be amazing if someone could help.
