hi all,

i want to create a cone simultaneously to a spiral...
my so far .ghx file attached
i try filter out points on curve with y=0 to get profile curve for lofting - but its not at the curve

This is also described in the Grasshopper Primer on page 29-31. Excuse me if I have misunderstood your questions since I did not look at your file.

ive done the spiral the way it was shown in the tutorial, but i want according to the spiral a cone which fits in the spiral, the file should make it clearer - thank you
Hi, by cone do you mean a surfcae running along your spiral curve? If so have you tried 1-rail sweep? I will look at your file so long.

its clear to me how to get the spiral and build a cone by revolving a line (line from point 0,0,0 to a point on the spiral) problem is that i only get a valid surface when line is in a ortho plane.
so i try to get the last point on the curve that has y=0 the get the line position right to build the cone ...

i think sweep 1 rail doesnt work

Had to reload the website a few times before I got this upload option. What I have done might not be very graceful or what you wanted in the first place but lofted a surface following the spiral curve exactly (not a singal surface though). The approach you seemed to go for 'by passed' the spiral curve, as in the surface and spiral curve didn't intersect which seemed to defy the purpose to me, and I am not sure why you went for that approach, I am probably missing the point of what you wanted to do then. Anyways check out what I did, and I would be interested in what you realy wanted if you didn't want this.
