Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hello, we are grasshopper newcomer!

we have a problem:

up to now we have hung levels at a partitioned line.

the positions of the levels we can already fix.

now there should be spheres between the levels generated which influence the swelling of the levels. the spheres should also have two different sizes.

if somebody can help us out with an example of a grasshopper connection?

hi, DeDackel!

Your last attachment was perfect for our project!! ;) great!!

We have modified your data file, look at the attachment.

Now one problem is active. The BANG (explode tree) has only 4 exit ports. We need more, for

example 6 or 8 ports.

Does anybody have a solution for us?

haha...I was waiting for this question...

-reight mouse click on to BANG

-outputmanager

- add as much as you want

:-)

Post pictures of your finished Project! Promise!!!;-)

I would like to know the topic of your project, possible?

Dear DeDackel,

I've been playing round with these equations, but I have come stuck. Im trying to create multiple attracter points from a jitter set. However when I connect the points up, I recieve warnings, innsufficient points for curve. Even when I just connect one point from the list it does not work.

Do you mind having a look and seeing what you suggest?

really appreciate it,

Thanks,

Dave

Hey,

I am out of the office, but on Tuesday I will have a chance to look at it. Hope this is not too late.

DeDackel

That would be really helpful, thanks.

Another problem I found was that when two points are used, it does not necessarily pull or push the surface at the same time -  the surface follows one point and not two. it is almost as if one point is higher ranked than the other? I hope that makes sense. maybe that is jsut where I was messing about with the expression . . .

Appreciate the help,

Cheers,

Dave

ok, I had a look at my files and I guess I knoy now what you are up to.

The z Value of the vectors are taken by one point even if you have multiple attractors. this can be changed. It was done here because it was wanted. Do you mean this by ranking the points?

And what for do you use the jitter. Are you up to a mixed point set? Random is a better way to reach this. Jitter (as I have used it) is only to mix/change the order of a list of points. I cannot see any use for this here. Please explain this to me.

I have problems to open your file. I am using the latest ghx-build. can you psot a screenshot?

Best Regards

DeDackel

Here is thescreen shot. I am using version 0.8.0011.

As for what Im trying to achieve . . .

Beneather the original surface, I havae created a second grid of points.

The jitter picks a certain number of those points, which are then moved a set distance higher or lower than both grids, these points should now become the pulling and pushing power for the surface. The idea is hopefull you can have a a surface where point placement is random but you choose the number of points and the how each point is positioned.

I have attached the jpeg and GH file again, hopefully it will work this time. I will download latest build now and then repost file if it doesnt work.

Thanks,

Dave

Hey,

thats a path problem.

your generated Points com with {A;B;C;D} and have to work together with a path {A;B}. The ghx does not work this way. every letter needs a partner (sonething like this :-)).

use the pathmapper for this reason.

Best Regards
