Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi!

I just started to explore spase syntax plug in. For the moment i am just following tutorial to see how does it work. But i got problem on very first step by adding information in "GraphfromNodes&Links" component. It s shows me some mistake: "Method not found: "Boolean.Rhino.Line.EpsilonEquals(Rhino.Geometry.Line,Double)".

Does somebody know what i am doing wrong?

Thanks

I think EpsilonEquals may have been added quite late, if your Rhino version is old it may not yet have this function and as such will be unable to run that plug-in. What version do you have? (Major version and Service release please)

Version 5 SR3 (5.3.30416.7165, 4/16/2013)

if it s too old, is it possible to reach the similar results like in space syntax plug in with other tools?

You can use spiderWeb to generate the graph and then use GraphToDatatree Component to convert it something that can be used with space syntax tool...

here i have second problem=) i downloaded spiderweb and put everything in grasshopper components folder, but it doesn´t appear  in grasshooper

i tried it. unfortunately it still does not appear

Update. sorry for wrong information! it works now. sometimes restart the computer helps=)

sorry for so many beginner questions. I tried to use spiderweb to solve my "rhino old version problem". It worked till some point, but when i am trying to make diskographdrawing and adding attributes there i am getting mistake. Do u know where could me my problem?

Just noticed that this hasen't been resolved...

When generating a Graph with SpiderWeb you can choose between generating a directed or undirected Graph. In your case you are generating an directed Graph (the small d in the black area tells me.) It mmight well be that SpaceSyntax plugin can't operate on directed Graphs.

So what to do:

Right click on the GraphFromLine component and select undirected Graph as Option then it should work.

thanks a lot! i will try it in my next test round! now i solved it with the kangaroo, and it s works pretty well but i am interested also to try other opportunities

SR3 is very old. We're up to SR13 I believe. Updating to the latest version is free and in addition to all these new features you need, you also get a lot of bug-fixes thrown in. Please consider updating.
