Spam emails

Dear all,

I have been getting around 10 daily spam emails sent from mail@grasshopper3d.com via grasshopper3d.ning.com

Below is one sample .. How can I filter these ? They are usually sent from different users and using different subject titles.

Hi Zayad,

At the moment the forum is being inundated with spammers. Something like 40 a day are trying to join. Some are getting through.

Please post links to the profiles of the culprits and they will be removed. Is this the Roberta Priestly who is sending the spam: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/profile/RobertaPriestley?xg_source=act...

I would suggest having a look at changing your EMAIL settings on your Settings page to try and limit the amount of email you are getting until we get on top of it. For instance turn of the Email from Group option which is probably what the spammers are using.

I can keep an eye on pending members, Recent Activity, Forum Posts and Blogs. But recently they are joining groups that I am unaware of. For instance Auz Hoppers is getting hit a lot at the moment.

Only after checking the IP address location can I justify declining the application. But what should I do if the IP address had been in NY, which they sometimes are? I then have to wait for them to start posting spam before I can react.
