algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I'm trying to arrange a set of points from a divided surface into workable sets.  My first thought is to take the area of a subsrf and then find the points with the same Z coordinates, and/or X, or Y, trying to create a set of points from a larger group.

Please see picture attached - Is this possible?

thanks - RF

thanks - i am trying to use the area centroids of surfaces from an isotrim instead of just dividing the surface. Any thoughts?

My end goal is to be able to manipulate each of these points and move them to measure the distance between the original centroid and moving it to then find the length between to then extrude the surface to create more of an undulating brick surface.

Thanks - RF

Is this the effect you're trying to achieve?  If not how does it differ?
