algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi guys.. this should be really simple, however I can't seem to get it to work..
the verteces (corneres) of these shapes are not aligned with one another.. I want to select the corners to be aligned in the list so that all the top corners will belong to the same list and all the left ones will belong tothe same list and so on.. I tried the sort points component but it doesn't seem to work..it works only for the "z" factor.. I thought to just select the highest x factor and then sort the list accordingly but the sort list doesn't work for some reason.. any idea on how to achieve this simple task??

hey.. there it is.. the line should stretch from the bottom edge of each shape.. and this isn't happening because the points aren't sorted out correctly.. they are in groups of 4 but do not match in their reletivity.. the upper edge for one is the lower edge for the other.. I hope I am clear.. thanx for helping.. this is for an architectural project.. there is alot riding on this ..and me :)
Hi kipodi,
I see. The patches you are importing are trimmed surface of mixed degree that extend quite a bit beyond the trimmed region. I'm wondering where these surfaces come from and whether there's a better way to define them rather than trying to fix the topology after the fact.
I attached a file that at least seems to sort them consistently.

I realise that there is a sort xyz component, however I was wondering if it is possible to sort in the yxz somehow?
