Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi I havent used gh too much then this can be easy but for me its impossible. What Ive been trying to do is to sort a list of geometry based on the coordinates of that geo, is it possible??

there are many ways to do it. But you have to get more specific for4 further help. A very easy way is this :

More difficult it gets for meshes (http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/sort-mesh?xg_source=activity) and of course with difficult/special geometries.

Thank you very much DeDackel! Ill try it.
It did work! but i have another question: How can I group points with the same Y value in branches?
never mind ive figured it out!
Hi Edwin,

i am having the same problem that you had. I already did what DeDackel told you but I also need to group the geometry (in my case it's not points, it's curves) with the same z value in branches.
How did you get that?
Thanks in advance.

Hi ander just do this:

Take the Z value of your points and make a set from that and graft it. In an equals component connect the grafted list you just did into the A input and the Z values of your points into the B input. Finally use the output of the equals as a pattern to cull your list of curves with a cull pattern component and thats it!

hey Edwin, cuould you post an image for that?

i'm doing something wrong...

finally got it!!

thanks
