Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello again

I am having trouble using "importidf" example file. I see 'str' object has no attribure 'name' error when I import my own idf file.

Please see the attached idf file, which is generated by GBS on my Revit model.

  • My EnergyPlus Version: I have both 8.4 and 8.6 installed and I think (not sure) that HoneyBee is using 8.6. Correct me if I am wrong.
  • I saw a previous post regarding this issue, and Mostapha's response was that "the outside boundary condition was mission" in that case. I checked that in my model, and I have boundary condition in all zones except for the ones facing outdoors or ground. please see the screenshot. so that shouldn't be the problem.

I appreciate your help.

Hi all,

Has anyone exported Revit model through GBS and importIDF in HoneyBee before? How can I solve this problem. Please help ;)

Thanks

Hi Ladan,

You should have posted this to Ladybug + Honeybee forum. Generally speaking importIDF can fail in cases that the file is not created by Honeybee itself. I moved to component to WIP until we replace it with an OpenStudio based method. EP version doesn't really matter in this case.

In any case your file can be imported to Grasshopper with no issues. Check the attached file.
